Texas Property Tax Consultants with a History
of Fightin’ for What’s Fair.

The Lane Property Tax Advocates story began in 1999, when founder Michael Lane established MBLane & Associates, a commercial real estate appraisal firm built on accuracy, integrity and service. A decade later, after seeing firsthand how often county appraisal districts missed the mark, he recognized a growing need for Texas property tax consultants who could do more than appraise — they could advocate. In 2009, Lane Property Tax Advocates was born.

What began as a small offshoot quickly grew into a full-fledged firm dedicated to helping commercial property owners secure fair assessments. Today, we’re proud to be one of the few remaining independent, family-owned operations in a landscape dominated by corporate giants. And our team? We truly are family. We celebrate wins, enjoy time together outside the office and keep treats at the ready for the friendly office pups who stop by. It’s a little chaotic, a lot of fun and the heart of who we are.

With a people-first approach, extensive first-hand experience and the Texas attitude it takes to continue the fight until we win, Lane isn’t just processing protests — we’re building partnerships. Let our Texas property tax consultants unburden your business.

Hunter Lane leads with clarity, consistency and a focus on building relationships. Through the years, he’s worked with hundreds of property owners across Texas, helping them navigate the protest process with confidence and make informed decisions that carry real financial impact.

Known for his steady, grounded presence, Hunter listens first. He keeps complex matters simple and walks clients through a system that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

Hunter’s leadership was shaped by strong mentors, real-world experience and a willingness to say “yes” to challenges long before he felt fully ready. A former collegiate baseball player, he brings that same discipline, competitiveness and team-first mindset to his work at Lane Property Tax Advocates.

He hopes the clients and team members he works with take away more than mere strategy. It’s the standard that’s most important — a commitment to honesty, accountability and leading by example. He believes clear expectations and strong relationships drive the best outcomes for both clients and the company.

Outside of work, Hunter stays rooted in what matters most: his faith, his marriage and being a father. When he’s not supporting clients or the Lane team, he spends his time coaching men in personal growth and getting outdoors to hunt, fish or simply reset.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
